Needle Valves and their uses
There are countless types of valves for use across a variety of industries and applications. One type of valve that is commonly used is a…
Read MoreMachined from the forged bar, our “IN” Type Double Block and Bleed Valves feature two-needle primary and secondary isolating valves and a needle valve. With a range of different operating temperatures and configurations, our Double Block and Bleed Valves are the superior market leader. Oliver Valves Double Block and Bleed valves provide Metal seating, with a 5.4mm bore for many applications without having to resort to traditional single isolate valves. These valves can also perform efficiently in harsh operating conditions, including cryogenic, and can meet the specific needs of your system application.
Oliver Valves’ standard “IN” Type DBB ranges from ¼” up to 1” but can also be rated 10,000psi. These Valves are vailable in Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Duplex, Super Duplex and many other materials on request. Various other connection types and sizes are available, from Hub to Threaded and Welded. Standard Temperature range up to 540 Deg C, depending on materials. All NPT connection threads are Single Point CNC machined.
All Oliver Valves products have material traceability and pressure test certificates to BS EN 10204 3.1. A unique code is stamped on all valve bodies linking them to their material and chemical analysis certificates. The IN Type Instrument DBB Valve can also perform efficiently in harsh operating conditions, including cryogenic, and are capable of meeting the specific needs of your system application.
A smaller unit versus the traditional hook-up brings both the piping and instrumentation isolation into one unit, meaning less weight. This is significant on the top side of a platform when you combine all the pressure instrument take-offs; with this, the typical installation is reduced from 33kg to 7kg, a weight reduction of 75%.
Weight reduction is also an issue when horizontal take-off; for example, a bending moment could cause a critical fracture of the pipeline-interface. At Oliver Valves, we generally overcome this by adding more stanchions to support traditional installation, adding more weight. Cost reduction is typically a 30% saving over traditional installation, which jumps up to 70% in the case of valves made from exotic materials for more exacting processes!
Cost-saving onsite is compared to the cost of one tested factory component instead of different piping valves, instrument valves, flanges, connections, and flanged seal rings. There is also the cost of raising purchase orders and the chasing of the parts in goods receivable. Then the shipping costs are larger and weightier; all specifications must be considered; rises in cost can be up to 30% of the overall cost.
