Standardised Valve Configuration For Subsea Horizontal And Vertical Tree Designs
Oliver Valvetek working with a major Subsea Tree, Manifold and Control system manufacturer in a collaborative approach to standardised Valve design and configuration, successfully integrated both a Hydraulic Gate valve and a manual Multi turn into a single valve unit.
Working with the tree manufacturer and in conjunction with a cross company depth of expertise, arrived at a conceptual design then production ready Dual Block multifunctional gate valve in less than 3 months.
This Valve offered the end user client/operators not only dual barrier fully independent Gate Valve technology but also included multiple product enhancements to ensure safety, quality and reliability were at the forefront of the products design.
This including fully standardised material specifications meeting with all end user requirements, the use of state of the art materials and specialist processes to cope with the aggressive environment the valves were to be operated in, enhanced HVOF tungsten carbide coating and sealing practices and the use of the TEK compact hydraulic Gate Valve “de-mountable” design using coil spring technology.
Both elements of the Duel Block are fully API6A PR2F and API17D 2nd Ed qualified with additional testing and evaluation processes to meet with the demands of Subsea Oil and gas production, including ultra-fast valve operation assessment associated with “real world” functionalisation of a Hydraulic Gate Valve.
This valve is now a standardised feature product for our client, which then improves the lead time from order to delivery process, backed up with pre-approval process which covers critical documentation in advance of demand appearing on a purchase order.
