Although small in size the Oliver Valvetek Relief Valves play a critical part in the safety of the subsea architecture it is fitted to.
The Oliver Valvetek, Subsea Relief Valves, have a cracking pressure of 10 psi to 20 psi and a reverse sealing pressure of up to 5,000psi to meet with the most demanding of Hyperbaric water depths.
Oliver Valvetek’s Subsea Relief Valves are widely used on hydraulically actuated gate valves, to protect hydraulic actuators from accidental over pressurisation if the Gate Valve gland seals fail in service which would allow possible high process pressures entering actuator spring casing.
At Oliver Valvetek, our team develops your solution from the ground up; by using our core elements, our valve solutions save time, money, and space while reducing potential leak paths and increasing robustness and safety.
The fail close sprung poppet arrangements have been designed and flow tested to prevent pressure build-ups by relieving to the sea and closing to stop the seawater from entering.
The small-bore subsea relief valves can be supplied with a range of cracking pressures and are suitable for water depths to 3050m which is 10,000ft. We are also able to work with customers to extend the standard 20 PSI cracking pressure where necessary.
Key Features
- Pressure relief valve, typical material of body construction being BS 970 316S11 stainless steel spindle material of 316 stainless steel. Other material options such as Super Duplex or Inconel 625 are available on request.
- A range of inlet connections based on the customer’s specific requirements.
- Certification for wetted pressure-retaining materials is traceable to original material certification to BS EN 10204 3.1 certifications. Optional EN 10204 certification with the intent of a 3.2 type certification option is also readily available (EN 10204 3.2 true mill witnessed shall be assessed for availability upon request).

- The valve has been designed and tested to have a cracking pressure of 10psi to 20psi and a reverse sealing pressure of 5,000psi.
- The operating temperature range is -40 C to +121 C.
